Probably the best food I had in DTLA amongst all the pricy, subpar options in DTLA during AX. Got a seat without making reservations. Being able to observe the workers hand rolling the hand rolls was fascinating and great. I even saw a bunch of people from Japan speaking Japanese. The workers were generous with the filling. Tip isn't required, but is already added in the bill as a surcharge. You're welcome to tip more in cash though.

Kazunori: Intimate Environment, Satisfactory Service, & Fresh Fish Kazunori is always a joy to dine in. The dining experience is simple yet unique. With bar-style seating in a dark space, customers observe the making of hand rolls from start to finish. The freshness of the fish is inexplicable, especially when rolled against steaming hot sushi rice. When ordering a set of rolls, each is served one after the other. You'll breeze through the dining experience if you're a quick eater. I discourage anyone from visiting Kazunori if they're starving, want to order takeout, a part of a large party, or craving alcoholic beverages. This spot is primarily focused on Omakase-style service and hand rolls.

If you are looking to have good hand rolls you must try this place. I feel that not everyone can do hand rolls. I love this place because It starts with the crunch of the seaweed and it continues with the warm rice and it finishes with the freshness of the sea food. This place is not the best for groups in my opinion. The square bar seating makes it a bit challenging but that's part of the experience like if you were in Japan. They get a 4&1/2 not a 4 because it's consistent. It's also a nice place to go if you are by yourself The service is always nice. The staff is always pleasant to deal with and they aren't overly priced. Hope you like it Happy roll hunting

Been to ROL in OC but many have said KazuNori is still the best! Price wise, this is much more affordable. 6 rolls for $28 is a great price. The chef was phenomenal. He's hustling orders to make sure we were well fed. Now, I marked down a star for service. The host was highly attentive and filling in where he was needed. Our server, however, failed to bring us water until we were half way done with our meal, which was prompted by us asking for it and asking for the Coke we had ordered. It helps when your server is not as high as a kite. He was forgetful, inattentive, and eyes glazed as can be. Hopefully someone can look into this. There's a parking lot right next door for $6/1.5 hrs. So easy. On a Saturday I thought it would be much busier. But when we arrived at 2PM there was no wait and we were seated immediately. Food was excellent 5/5! Hope service improves next time though.
